Everything I Have

Hmmmm... I wonder if this might make a interesting project?!?!? I bet it would be pretty mind blowing to document all of my clothes, shoes and handbags in this fashion! Would you have more than you thought you did? Would your possessions seem more or less important after this process? Maybe it would help me reinvent my wardrobe!

Grace and Ease

This look caught my eye for its simple glamour. A grey tee, denim jacket, wool overcoat, and black denim is really all it takes to look chic when you have the help of a pair of truly AMAZING shoes!

In other news, I received a little shout out (if you will) from Nadine at the lovely blog Anmtuig! So nice! In turn, I will pass this award on to Freckle Farm and Field Guided, two inspiring blogs and great reads!

Thanks for reading!!!

Shoe Heaven

Remember this lovely girl and her unreal collection of shoes? The Selby shot her (her, being stylist Elisa Nalin) at her home in Paris and her gaggle of gorgeous shoes is even more impressive than I originally thought!!!

How adorable is she in the striped top and that huge smile! And I am definitely adding this photo to the "hair file"!

TOM TOM Jewelry

Discovered this new jewelry line via Daily Candy... I love the use of varied size chains, metals and ribbons. The necklaces are equal parts edgy and feminine. And you know I love a good nautical theme (The first necklace is named Swallowed By The Sea)!

Fashion Lover

Diane Kruger... Can't say that I truly enjoy her as an actress, but she definitely has made a name for herself in the fashion scene. This year at Fashion Week she made a couple very well dressed appearances. What I like most about her style is that she may be wearing head-to-toe designer but she still manages to look a bit girl-next-door.... (Not to mention she has some very good looking arm candy!)

JCrew 2 Button Blazer ($230), Topshop Floral Dress ($90), Marc by Marc Jacobs Cross Body Percy Bag ($158) Arden B Legging ($18), TOD'S Lace-up Boots ($532)

Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony

I was so excited this morning to stumble across pictures of the new Chloe Sevigny and Opening Ceremony collaboration. The A/W 2009 collection looks very trend right with unisex pieces running from size XXS to XL (his and hers) and the most exciting range of Bass shoes designed specifically for the collection. It's very interesting to see a resurgence of Creeper-esque shoes... I didn't think I would see their comeback anytime soon!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE those buckled wedges! And Miss Chloe herself looking ridiculously svelt!

Spring Sandal Search (Part 2: The Early Days)

Since the great Spring/Summer sandal search usually starts in January and lasts well into August, there is A LOT to cover! Therefore, I am breaking it out into baby-steps. I posted some of my favorite early contenders in the ankle-strap category... Now, onto something a little different... Let's call it: "Almost Orthopedic"! They remind you of something your grandma would have worn by the pool...

Vintage Picks: 70's Wedge via Rocky Mountain Retro ($38), Cherry Red Wedge via Secret Lake Vintage ($28)

Classics: Worishofer ($69), Dr. Scholl's Original ($35)

Current Obsession: Neutral Knit Dresses

I wonder if I could get away with wearing these comfy knit dresses everyday? Layered over leggings, thick tights, or leather leggings for something a little edgier... Long cardigan and leather jacket on top... Ankle booties, riding boots or granny boots on the bottom... A recipe for chic comfort!

Dresses: Alexander Wang ($85), Vanessa Bruno ($425), Marc by Marc Jacobs ($360), RVCA ($36)
Outfit: Rick Owens Leather Jacket ($2,900), UO Sateen Leggings ($38), Steve Madden Boots ($129)

Have a Good Weekend!

This is a look I have been living in lately... so perfect for whatever the weekend has in store! Tunic mini-dress, chunky oversized sweater, thick tights and high-tops.... If you can't tell, I am increasingly obsessed over high-tops with dresses! These leather Chuck Taylor's keep your feet nice and toasty in the cold!

Wanted: Flowing Knit Tanks

I am currently craving open and flowing knit tanks in as many shapes/colors that I can find! Casual and slightly undone (in a sexy way of course) these tanks are easily layered now and worn alone for the warmer months!

Spring Dressing For Winter

About this time of year I start itching for warmer weather and light spring clothing. But with the weather still chilly outside we are left to improvise with our tired winter clothes and the few new spring pieces we've started to pick up....

I spotted this feather weight plaid tunic at Anthropologie the other day and knew it would be the perfect piece to take me from the last days of winter dressing all the way to summer.

Wear it now:

Paired with light denim makes the look fresh for Spring while keeping you warm. The tunic is also easily layered with a chunky sweater or shrunken blazer.

Wear it later:

Belted with shorts and gladiators, this is will be my summer uniform.

Bluebird Shirting Tunic ($118), Chiroptera Booties ($378), and Loneland Belt ($158) all available at Anthropologie. Brushed Twill Skinny Jean from AE ($29.95), APC Blazer ($330), Martin Margiela Cotton Stripe Shorts ($190), Matt Brenson Gladiator ($170)

Cute Couple in the Front Row?

Is it just me or would these two make the cutest couple???

Kirsten and Elijah front row at Rodarte.

Here are a couple looks from Rodarte's runway... I thought Refinery29 put it very well... "It was all decay and romance at Rodarte's fall/winter '09 show, with key inspirations being dilapidated houses and Frankenstein." Interesting... Gorgeous collection but appears pretty unwearable for the average person (can you say thigh-high bondage/mummy-style boots?)

And one more little hint of optimism via The Sartorialist... Just a peek of yellow sleeves. Great look!

The Bright Side

As predicted, Yellow is starting to make itself known as the bright spot of 2009!

Backstage

I LOVE this backstage photo from the Built By Wendy Fall 09 show (Fall 09 already? can you believe it?!?!) A blend of Victorian, Asian and Sixties influences... Love those red and lace tights and the perfectly pulled back ballerina-style chignon!

A Match Made in Paris

It should come as no surprise that I am currently obsessed with all things Parisian... Paris is such a romantic city and obviously I am not the only one who thinks so... the designers at Kate Spade caught this romantic essence in these playful Valetine's treats...

Hope everyone has a dreamy Valentine's Day!

Spring Sandal Search (Part 1: The Beginning)

The preverbal snow hasn't even started to melt yet and I am already getting excited for the first pair of sandals of 2009. Here are some of my early favorites... Let's call it: "Ankle Straps Required"

Chloe Buckle Flat ($590), Matt Bernson Barracuda Sandal ($175), Topshop Plaited Sandal ($50), Banana Republic Kenya Sandal ($98)

This Just In...

After a very long day at work, I was so pleased to arrive home to find a package with this beauty inside...

A birthday gift from my amazing parents (how sweet, I know)! It really is the most perfect everyday carryall (and it puts me one step closer to my goal of French-chicness - Oui? Non?)

Notes to Self

Notes to Self:

1. Try all black layering... this should seem obvious, but I often feel a little "dark" in all black...

2. Consider overalls... I have a feeling this would probably be a pretty difficult look to pull off. The simple but lovely brown coat is definitely keeping it from looking too juvenile.... (doesn't she look like Theodora Ricards??? Maybe she is!)

3. Add a pop of color (red lips + yellow clutch)... although it was my New Year's goal to go back to basics (i.e. less color), this photo proves that even a mostly neutral and monochrome look can benefit greatly from a little POP...
(photos via here, here and here)

In other news, this coming week will be a very busy work week for me and I'm going into it with a major cold, so posting will be very light... Lots more next week!

Let's Get Physical

Sometimes, especially when it's cold, you just really just need to cuddle into a warm sweatshirt... Unfortunately this is not always the most fashionable choice... but thanks to these sweatshirt alternatives , you can take the look beyond the gym...

A Collection

I loved this idea the minute I saw it - Inspiration Scrapbook... let me start by saying that I am not a scrapbooker, but I do religiously collect tear-outs of outfit and home inspiration... Needless to say I end up with a huge and untidy folder full of magazine and catalog tears. Well, Kristina Contes thought of a clever way of bringing all of her inspiration (in this case specifically from Anthropologie) into one place to make an Inspiration Scrapbook of sorts. And I have to say it looks like a fun project!

More here.

I Heart these Cynthia Rowley sunglasses!!! And they're on sale for $175 (Originally $250)

A Girl Named Lewis

The playful and totally retro inspired (think a young Norma Jean) S/S 09 collection from Alison Lewis...

I am pretty sure that I am going to need those shorts....

(Side-note: The model has total "come-hither" eyes, doesn't she???)

Pretty Pretty Pink

I ran across the delightful blog Eddy & Edwina the other day and was excited to discover her gorgeous (and unique) jewelry...

This piece caught my eye right away as it reminded me of one of my favorite things...

Available at Eddy & Edwina's Shop ($54)

Miss Dior Chérie

I know this little video clip is already posted everywhere, but I just couldn't help myself! I love watching it, maybe because I am dying to go back to Paris... maybe for my 30th birthday (which is still a ways away but, ugh)!

Directed by Sofia Coppola via A View To

The Wedge

I loved Refinery29's wrap up of all the wonderful and some staggeringly tall wedge booties from Stockholm Fashion Week. These wedges are such a great "wear-now" shoe (with skinny jeans) that will take you well into Spring (with cropped pants or a dress).

In Stockholm:

Options ready for purchase:

Max Studio ($184.95), Max Studio ($209.95), Tapeet, ($355.47), Free People ($148).

Metallic Love

Lust worthy metallic pieces at JCrew...

I saw this tote in "real-life" this weekend and I have to say it was even more pretty than online. While it's obviously a bit glitzy, it didn't come off showy at all!

More Of The Same (But Always Lovely)

Another day, another post, another beautiful girl (in a fantastic jumper, I might add) and her lust-worthy shoe collection!

Hmmm... maybe I should experiment with displaying my own massive shoe collection in pretty little rows on the floor!

(Photos by Garance Dore at French Vogue)

Super What?

Forget the Superbowl... Big Love is on tonight! I am borderline obsessed (but not really) with Chloe Sevigny!!! She has the most amazing style... very fresh and flirty!

Ugh... does anyone have any secrets to making hair grow really fast!?!?! And is it just me or are cat and bunny masks all the rage??? (maybe more on that later)

(Spotted at L.A. In Bloom)

Made(very)Well

My dear and fashionable friend, Sofie, recently alerted me to the new Spring arrivals at Madewell...

How amazing is this shruknen leather jacket??

Love the fringe bag and shoes!

Hmmm... white jeans. I love this look, but I always worry about coming off too "country-club" in white jeans...

I have never been to one of their store (there are only 10 currently), but might need to check out the Century City location soon!

Making It Work

Kirsten Dunst spotted in long black skirt (or dress) and hunter green kilty riding boots - LOVE!

And as far as I know she is not particularly tall... for all you shorties who worry about being able to pull off this look!
